Never thought much about it until our cat became lethargic and had severe breathing and mobility problems!! What is going on with this product? Our cat nearly died. We switched products and she’s slowly coming back

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY I was trying to find a good cat litter and was recommended this. I’ve had cats my entire life, and I also have a strong stomach when it comes down to terrible smells (things that cause most people to have a reaction I don’t react to). However, this cat litter has literally made me sick. After removing the lid I instantly started to have a reaction, but tried powering through it (mind over matter mentality) and couldn’t get more than two scoops in when I started coughing, getting light headed and couldn’t breathe. I took about a 10-15 minute break, grabbed two masks and a shirt, and was only able to get three-four more (small) scoops before I couldn’t do it anymore. At that point I just dumped the whole box. I just cleaned it two days ago, so it wasn’t super full either. I did that about an hour ago and am still feeling sick. I’ve never had a litter that affected me so negatively, and was so dusty and tracks so much around the house either. Please be careful using this litter.

I was hoping that it was a packaging error because now it is just the same as one of the formulations I bought by mistake. But reading reviews, I guess this is the way it is now, so I will be changing brands.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Extreme Febreeze litter I like the Fresh Step litters but the lightweight Extreme Febreeze now has the smell of dust throughout our home. The litter boxes are in my bedroom closet and the dust is in the air on the kitchen and front room

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Well the litter is not good as the old formula was it leaves a mess and sticks to the litter box which we clean them twice a day, using the old formula almost 7 years we are very pleased with the results but with the new formula we are not happy with the results

In the last year it has gone from great clumping and Oder control to a wet mess, and ammonia smell. I just cleaned it again. It’s only been a week and a half since I last cleaned it, try to clean clumps out but it’s not clumping. So in one month we have gone through 3 1/2 containers of litter because it smells so bad. The pictures I am sending show baking soda in the bottom of the litter box as we thought it would help with smell. But it was as it has been soaked all the way to the bottom, had to scrape the bottom to get rid of the caked baking soda. Looks like we will be looking for a new brand.
