Rated 2 out of 5 by from Formula has changed for the worst I’ve used Fresh Step litter for over a decade, with the same cat. I’ve used the multi-cat, the febreze, and the regular versions of this litter. He’s never had any issues with it before. However, I’ve noticed that the last three packages of the 38lb litter that I’ve purchased have been much darker in color than it used to be, and my cat has started voiding in various places outside the box, starting around the same time. Something has changed in the litter formula and my cat hates it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Multi-Cat scented I have been a cat owner of multiple cats for 10+ years. Recently this formula has changed for the worst. I completely understand that times are changing and to remain a profitable company in today’s market, constant adjustments in materials and trials have to be run. Customer feedback is a vital part of this cycle. I wanted to give you some transparent feedback, your recent formula change has gone too far on the “sell your cheapest ingredient(s)” to remain profitable scale. This change is going to cost you dearly in the long run because you are going to loose customers and new customers that try your product, you will never regain their business. Over the last few months I have noticed that my cat’s have been exiting the box and litter is scattered all over the floor. We are having to clean our litter every other day and the urine does not clump like it use to, it pools and turns to mud. My cats have dried litter caked in their paws. One of my cats, 2 times in the last month, has urinated in my spot on our bed because of the condition of her litter box. When scooping the litter, the urine and litter mud sticks to the scoop. I have never had a problem out of this litter but your new formula for this particular product is unacceptable. I’m not really happy about having to buy a more expensive product to get the same results that I am use to having to keep our cats happy and our house clean. Please re-evaluate this formula and compromise between the quality and cost.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy I have used Fresh Step cat litter for years and have tried different varieties. I decided to try Fresh Step, clean paws, advanced, multi cat clumping litter a week ago. My poor 7 month old kitten is allergic. She is licking her paws excessively and is drooling excessively. I took her to the vet and since it was a new letter, I tried the vet felt like she had an allergic reaction so I had to throw the 37 pound of litter away. After I threw the litter away, I I will now compare ingredients in the litter that I buy now. My other cats seem fine.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from New formula simply doesn’t work I have exclusively used fresh step for the 16 1/2 years I’ve had my Kitty and it was great up until a few months ago. I sent customer service a message and they didn’t mention a new formula, just their “color may vary” line (like veteran pet owners are unintelligent and didn’t know this and know that’s not the problem) and a few coupons, which I will not be using because the new litter is SO BAD. It doesn’t absorb the urine or smell. My cat’s paws smell slightly icky if I don’t immediately scoop the litter after she’s done and before she goes back in. It’s just bad.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from New Formula - giant dust cloud This was, hands-down, the best cat litter ever. Why did you change a good thing?? Now, I have to deal with a huge dust cloud when I pour or when my cats dig. There’s grey dust all over my furniture due to this litter. I can’t imagine that’s good for kitty’s (or my lungs). Sadly, it’s time to search for a new litter.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrid new texture Horrible new formula. I moved to Fresh Step because the texture of Sc00pAway changed to dark grey clay. Disappointingly, Fresh Step has taken the same steps and the litter is AWFUL! It is horrid to scoop. Its like lifting concrete. There is no odor control and it tracks everywhere. PLEASE bring back the previous formula!!

This new fresh step formula is awful. So hard to scoop now and it's like your scooping wet cement and as soon as I walk in the room. I can smell it. Who in the fresh step camp thought this was better than it used to be needs to be fired
