I don't know when they reformulated it because I generally buy several packages of it at a time in the four pack of bags, but it's terrible now if you're looking for a non-dusting clumping cat litter. Don't buy this stuff. It's garbage

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible New Formula I have used this for my cats for a long, long, long time - through many kitties. The formula is different. I poured it in and it is very dark gray and beyond dusty. Please change back to the original as I am now searching for my new litter. The bag is also gray now just like the new dark color of the litter when it used to be a blue bag and has japanese or chinese or some kind of other language all over it. I really hope this is a mistake and the 4 blue bags come back in the 38 pound pack.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Odor control is recently non-existant, was awesome I have been using this litter for 8 years. I have 2 - 20+ lb cats that were raised on this litter. My most recent 42lb purchase has VIRTUALLY ZERO scent particles in it. I finally took a close look at the actual litter, and realized your formula has changed. There are no scent particles, and I have been battling the odor for a month. I have never had to previously. I am fastidious with the litter box, cleaning daily, wholesale replacement often. WHAT HAPPENED ?? PLEASE FIX THIS !!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love it. But expensive for a foster mom. I normally buy Fresh Step. It is the best litter. But I am fostering 10 babies and 2 moms right now. And they are going through litter like crazy. I simply can not afford it. When I am back down to my 3 cats. I will go back. But right now I am having to buy a big container of the really cheap stuff. And 2 boxes of Fresh Step per week. It's killing my pocket book. Anyone want a really cute kitten?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Purchased cement I’ve been buying Fresh Step litter for my cats for several years and have never had an issue until I purchased “Fresh Step Extreme Mountain Spring Scented Litter with Febreze, Clumping Cat Litter, 38 lb” Once I opened, I noticed there was no scent, and the litter was dark, similar to cement. I figured it was just one of the four packs that came out bad, so I opened another pack, and same thing, dark with no scent. Very disappointed as I now need to purchase another pack of cat litter.
