It's less dusty and smaller clay granules so it doesn't track outside the box like normal litter. Since it's unscented it doesn't attach a scent on the cats and covers the odor really well for 4 cats and 3 boxes. Please don't discontinue this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light Weight, Unscented Litter I have been using Fresh Step Simply Unscented, Light Weight cat litter for several years and it’s the best ever! But when I tried to reorder from Chewy they say it’s been discontinued! WHAT??? It’s the best litter I’ve used in a long time for my 3 cats. I just found some on Amazon & I hope it’s the right kind. What is going on & are you bringing it back. It’s so much less dust than Tidy Cats and the unscented was truly without scent. I’m an older person and have to have light weight. Can you tell us what is happening and why it’s discontinued?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Simply unscented is no longer unscented. Simply unscented is no longer unscented. This change in formula is unacceptable. It smells like Febreeze, it is dusty, and it is unusable for cats with asthma. Like others have pointed out, it’s also darker and crumblier. This long time Fresh Step user will be switching to a different brand.

Many people in my family are very sensitive to fragrance, so the simply unscented was perfect for us to use. However, within the last 2 purchases of the litter, the product has 100% changed. It Is darker, dusty, and reeks of fragrance (smells straight up like fabreze). It’s bothering everyone in the house and even the cat. It’s not a slight change in the product it is just not even the same anymore. 1 box was purchased from Petco and the other from a Target. I am very disappointed in this change, and the $50 dollars I have of wasted cat litter.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Consumer Beware! DO NOT BUY THIS KITTY LITTER! I have been using Fresh step for decades. Changed to the unscented many years ago and absolutely loved it UNTIL NOW! The litter is a dark gray uniform color. It is smaller granules. I only topped off one of my boxes and I had small urine soaked clumps of litter scattered outside the box and kitty footprints all over my house. My last month order has lot numbers on the front of the box. These new 4 boxes have NO LOT NUMBER??? Research is showing a supply chain issue. If this is the problem please stop producing. Don’t send us consumers a subpar product and lose our trust. Now I will be researching other brands.
